2023
Formation of Vanrong Foods in Canada
In early 2023 the founder drew on more than two decades of experience at Rongsense to establish Vanrong Foods Inc. in Vancouver, Canada. Vanrong specialises in sourcing, processing and distributing premium processed and frozen seafood from Canada, China, Europe, Korea, Japan and other major fishing regions to foodservice providers, wholesalers and grocery chains across North America. By combining Rongsense’s heritage of quality, research and logistics excellence with a new North‑American base, Vanrong delivers innovative products and reliable cold‑chain service to its growing clientele.
2010
Recognition and Quality Leadership
During the 2010s, Rongsense gained recognition as a National Key Agricultural Industrialization Leading Enterprise and a National High‑tech Enterprise. It implemented ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 quality and food‑safety management systems and pioneered a “Centralized Warehouse + Central Kitchen + Direct Sales Channels + Cold Chain Logistics” business model. By participating in international trade—exporting sushi‑grade and ready‑to‑eat products to Japan, South Korea, the United States and the EU—the founder developed strong global sourcing networks and quality‑control expertise.
1951-1990
Roots in a Leading Chinese Seafood Enterprise
Vanrong’s story begins with the founding of Shandong Rongsense Group in 1951. Over the decades, this company evolved from a local fisheries co‑operative into a major integrated enterprise engaged in aquatic food processing, international trade and cold‑chain logistics. The future founder of Vanrong cut his teeth in this environment, learning every facet of the seafood industry from sourcing to distribution.
